Presenter: Michael Theophilos (Australian Catholic University, Australia)

Object-Based Learning (OBL) provides a unique opportunity for an integrated student-centred approach to digital assessment that exploits the capacity for polyvalent interaction. Recent developments in both digital imaging and visualisation systems, accessible through tablets and mobile devices, have opened up new opportunities for assessment through student interaction with compelling virtual worlds and objects. This presentation will share the practical results and applied examples of this approach for assessment, primarily in ancient historical studies, but will also provide ample application to the transferability of this assessment approach to other academic disciplines.
