[Summary and Bio]\n \n Understanding the relational and affective domains within the feedb ack process is an important part of both teacher a nd student feedback literacy development. Explorin g the dynamics of feedback through the lens of tea chers and students experiences of giving and recei ving feedback uncovers the important role that emo tions play. A greater awareness of emotional liter acy development could improve staff and students&r squo\; feedback literacy and working relationships . Findings from a research study with higher educa tion practitioners will be discussed and implicati ons for practice explored.\n \n 2) What'\;s the point of assessment? \;Implementing universit y-wide student-focused competence-based assessment literacy.\n \n Andrew Holmes and \;Dominic He nri (University of Hull\, United Kingdom).\n \n Th e university of Hull is one of the UK&rsquo\;s fir st institutions to move away from learning outcome s and instead introduce an inclusive-education com petence-based framework for all programmes from 20 20-2023 (See competence-based HE \;[PDF] and i nclusive education framework \;[PDF]). Include d in the competence-based framework is an increase d emphasis on formative assessment at programme an d module level (Irons &\; Elkington\, 2022)\, d ecolonising the curriculum (Nieminen\, 2022) and r emoving bias through addressing the hidden curricu lum (Joughin\, 2010). In 2022 two staff\, Andrew H olmes and Dom Henri were appointed as Senior Fello ws of the Hull&rsquo\;s Teaching Excellence Academ y\, with a remit to operationalize (embed) assessm ent literacy processes and practices (Carless & \; Boud\, 2018\, Carless &\; Winstone\, 2020\, Malecka\, Boud &\; Carless\, 2020). This has in volved designing and implementing competence-based assessment literacy and feedback literacy resourc es for staff and students\, including: staff and s tudent workshops\, digitally badged student assess ment literacy development online resources\, an em erging programme-level assessment literacy &lsquo\ ;audit tool&rsquo\;\, implementing increased use o f formative and summative rubrics\, the design and development of competence-based assessment rubric s (Jonssson\, 2014) and curriculum design\, aligni ng assessment with long-term learning (Boud &\; Falchikov\, 20006) and providing staff support wo rkshops we label as &lsquo\;assessment therapy&rsq uo\;.
