We will cover the practicali ties of the process and lessons learned along the way. We will also share feedback from our first co hort of students. \;\n \n One of the learning outcomes in the course &ndash\; assessed in an ass ignment &ndash\; is that students will be able to critically evaluate a statistical study and then c ommunicate and justify their judgment on the study . While many of our students genuinely engage in t he assignment\, in recent years it has become appa rent that some rely heavily on Generative AI tools . While such tools can be useful as a starting poi nt\, some student submissions revealed that they w ere not critically evaluating AI-generated outputs in light of the context of the provided study. In 2024\, we decided to implement an interactive ora l assessment (IOA) component. Students were given a choice \;of undertaking \;the IOA in per son (on campus) \;or online via web conferenci ng. We found that this assessment type can help to preserve academic integrity as well as \;prov ide for \;authenticity to prepare students for their professional life beyond university. \; \n \n \n  \;\n \n To register for this session please login (or create an account) then click th e '\;register now'\; button.\n \n  \;\n \n Sessions are hosted by Professor Geoffrey Crisp \, Retired (DVC Academic\, University of Canberra) and Dr Mathew Hillier\, Australia.\n \n Please no te all sessions are recorded and made public after the event.\n \n  \;\n \n Time is displayed be low is in *universal coordinated time* ->\; See your local time.
